July 17, 2003 Her name is Cassandra, but we call her Casey. We have two year old twins and a nine year old. Casey is so good with them. I knew she was going to be a great pet when our two year old son was laying across her stomach! She is around six months old and she amazes me how close she stays by the house. She will follow us through the woods and to check our goats. She doesn't chase them, she just quietly observes them. She minds very well, and would probably mind even more so if we spent more time training her. We are amazed by her intelligence. She is just a great pet all the way around! I shudder to think what might happen if someone tried to hurt one of us or our other animals when I watch her fighting for her food with our other dog! They always kiss and make-up though! Anatolians are a great choice, and the Battles are just the best folks to buy from! L Williams - Clayton, AL

July 29, 2003 In the last six months we have had a great problem with coyotes on our farm. We had two older dogs, but they were not able to handle the problem. The coyotes were getting so bold as to come within 400 yards of our house and take down not only our kids but then our big nannies. We knew we had to do something quick or we were going to not only lose any profit we might have this year but any future profit that might come from our nannies. We had seen some registered Anatolian shepherd puppies at the Goat Day held last spring at TuskegeeUniversity. We were impressed with their blood line as well as their owners. We decided to look into purchasing two for our goat herd. We purchased a registered male and female from the Battles family. Both dogs were only six months old. When we went to their pasture to pick them up we were shown around their operation and decided we had made a wise decision. Since returning home with the dogs and placing them with our herd we have not seen a coyote nor have we lost another goat to predators of any kind. We would highly recommend these pups, as they have done an exceptional job for us. J & A Griffin Griffin Farm Grady, Alabama
| Thank you Battles, We absolutely love our Anatolian Shepherd, Zebu. We have two other dogs, a Toy Fox Terrier and a German Short hair in addition to your Anatolian. Because we wanted her as a family pet as well as a ranch dog, we made sure to socialize her well. She was first introduced to our terrier and we made sure Zebu knew from the start that this little dog was in charge, as we knew how large Anatolians get: we didn't want Zebu to be a threat to this little dog. That was 2 years ago and the little dog is still the boss. Zebu attended puppy kindergarten and quickly moved up the levels. She has proven that she can get along with any dog and plays well with them. There was even one time she was attacked by three smaller dogs at once, but she didn't hurt a one. She simply held back the instigator and didn't move. She could have easily killed all three of those dogs, but she didn't as she knew the situation was not life threatening for her. She is just the sweetest, she loves to cuddle and is gentle around the children. She and the UPS man are pretty good friends too, as she know he always has a treat for her when he makes a stop. We had heard that Anatolians like to bark, but beware they usual have a good reason. As I discovered just the other day she kept barking and I went outside to see that she had discovered a rattle snake had wondered close to her house. I was really grateful to her that she let me know. Anatolians are big wonderful dogs, but don't take on more than you can handle. We did our research and knew that we were taking on, a large dog that can be loud and doesn't like to be kenneled. She is a perfect fit for our family and we have the land for her to enjoy. We have seriously discussed getting another Anatolian, they are that great. If I had to choose to keep only one of our 3 dogs, I would choose the Anatolian. The Oden's Molt, Montana
I wanted to tell you how pleased I am with my pup. "Sergeant" is adjusting well. I have been keeping him with the alpaca, and working to socialize him also. He does love to chew!! He has learned to walk on tech leash faster than any pup I've ever had. I worked a little with him the evening that he arrived and then the next day and now he walks well without any balking. He has met all of the animals, cats, birds, dogs, donkey, goat, pony, pig and the alpaca. He is very laid back and comfortable. I am so glad that I learned of your kennel. Thanks, DE.
Cynthia and Aubrey were very helpful prior to, during and after the purchase of our Anatolian. Aubrey too the time to answer all of my questions prior to the purchase. Cynthia arranged the air travel plans for the puppy to be sent to our nearest airport, and has since also taken time to answer many questions. When we picked up the puppy at the airport she was very clean and in excellent condition. Our puppy is several months old now and is a very sweet pet. She has received numerous compliments regarding her temperament and appearance from friends, family and neighbors. We feel very fortunate to have such a well rounded dog. Thanks to Aubrey and Cynthia for all of their help. J. Ozier
